Social Page One

Google Social Search is Google’s way of indexing the ongoing and constantly updating content of social networks like Twitter.

As long as one is logged into a Google account, these “Social Circle” results show up on Page 1 in not one, but two places.

(Click the image to see it full-size.)

First is at the bottom of the page, right along with the general search results.

If you note the graphic, there’s now also a tab for “Social” in the sidebar above the real-time search results.

What Social Search allows one to do is tie their personal Google account to their various social networks.

As shown in the example, the user searching for “chiropractor st louis” is able to see what their personal network (and their respective networks) are saying about this subject, along with links as applicable.

Call it something like “six degrees of search separation”.

What does all this mean for a business?

Simple – a company can be hitting Google Page 1 quickly and easily with content, links, and marketing efforts…if they’re connected to enough people via social networks.

We include this service as part our normal business-based social networking plans, but are offering it here on its own, as an affordable means to “wade into the waters” of social networking, specifically via Twitter.
